ZACHARY GORDIN has won international acclaim for his artistry. Formerly one of the leading countertenors of his generation, he recently embarked on a new career as a baritone. A winner of several international competitions, he was also featured as the Guest Artist in Classical Singer Magazine's February 2004 edition. Recent highlights include the World Premiere of Pido Silencio by Loretta Notareschi with the Berkeley Contemporary Chamber Players; Couperin's Trois Leçons de Ténèbres and Handel's Messiah with the Baroque Musicians Guild; Wilder in the World Premiere of Earthrise by Lewis Spratlan for San Francisco Opera; Yama in the Myth of Kurva for the Berkeley New Music Project's workshop and concert 'Words and Music' led by William Bolcom. Upcoming engagements include Enrico in Lucia di Lammermoor for Center Stage Opera this Fall.
