SVETLANA NIKITENKO has been acclaimed at San Francisco Opera (Queen of the Night), Kirov Opera (Queen of the Night & Gilda) and Kiev State Opera (Marfa in Rimsky-Korsakov's The Tsar's Bride). While a student at The Moussorgsky Theater, St. Petersburg she appeared as Queen of Shemakhan (Le Coq d'Or), Violetta (La Traviata), Gilda (Rigoletto), Rosina (Il Barbiere di Siviglia) and Marfa (The Tsar's Bride). American credits include Gilda with Natchez Opera, Queen of the Night with Pocket Opera & Opera San José, Mimi and Antonia with North Bay Opera and Madame Herz in Mozart's Der Schauspieldirektor for San Francisco Opera Guild. Ms. Nikitenko was a Metropolitan Opera Finalist and is a graduate of San Francisco Opera's Merola program where she worked with Dame Joan Sutherland.
