SUSANNA CHUBARIAN a superbly educated musician, graduating with honors and a Masters degree from the Rachmaninoff Conservatory in Rostov-on Don, she performed in Rostov’s Lyric Opera and Philharmonic. She has had leading roles in Carmen, La Bohème, Eugene Onegin, Rigoletto and Aleko. She toured Western Europe as soloist of the Armenian folk troupe ANI and with the Donzy Russian Ensemble. She recently performed under the baton of Urs Steiner in Carmina Burana and has sung in Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony under his direction. Susanna has coached with Gregory Buchalter, Assistant Conductor of the Metropolitan Opera, Edna Garabedian, General Director of the California Opera Association, Mila Filatova, Artistic Director of the New Opera and Concerts Center in Toronto, and Michael Avedissian of the Yerivian Philharmonic. She was Regional Finalist in the Metropolitan opera Auditions in 2000 and recipient of a major grant from the Arpa Foundation for Film, Music, and Art.
