PAUL THOMPSON Bass Paul Thompson has sung widely in the United States and abroad including the title role in Mozart’s Le Nozze di Figaro, Guglielmo in Cosi fan tutte, Sarastro in Die Zauberflöte, the title role in Donizetti’s Don Pasquale, Angelotti in Puccini’s Tosca, The Sergeant of Police in Gilbert and Sullivan’s The Pirates of Penzance, Pooh-bah in The Mikado, Ariodate in Handel’s Xerxes, as well as roles in La Traviata, Rigoletto, Tales of Hoffman, Lucretia Borgia, and La Belle Hélène. He has performed with Philharmonia Baroque Orchestra, Opera San Jose, Eugene Opera, Nevada Opera Theater, West Bay Opera, Donald Pippen’s Pocket Opera, Bayshore Lyric Opera of Capitola, Opera Piccola of Bremen, Lamplighters, Santa Cruz Bay City Opera, Livermore Valley Opera, and San Francisco City Chorus as Bass Soloist. He has participated in the Bay Area Summer Opera Theater Institute and in the American Institute of Musical Studies in Graz, Austria. Mr. Thompson currently studies with Lynn Wickham in San Francisco.
