MARIE SOKOLOVA just finished working with the San Francisco Opera Guild's educational outreach program of The Magic Flute. She is a recent Regional Finalist with the Metropolitan Opera National Council. Awards include the Marquis Award in the Young Artist Category at the Classical Singer Magazine Audcomps 2006, the National Association of Teachers of Singers, the Jon Vickers award for most promising undergraduate singer, as well as the Handel Award at the Orpheus Competition. Some of her favorite operatic roles have included Olga, Cherubino, the Witch (Hansel and Gretel), and the Sorceress (Dido & Aeneas). Mrs. Sokolova is a graduate of DePauw University and earned her Master of Music degree from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music.
