JONATHAN NADEL

JONATHAN NADEL, a lyric tenor, has performed throughout the United States and Western Europe with Golden West Opera, Berkeley Lyric Opera, Berkeley Opera, Opera Piccola, the San Francisco Fringe Festival, Harvard Pro Musica, Mill Valley Festival, Belmont Symphony, BASOTI, the American Bach Soloists and the Philharmonia Baroque Orchestra.  Recent roles include Edgardo in Lucia di Lammermoor with Golden West Opera, Obadjah and Ahab in Mendelssohn’s Elijah with the San Jose Symphonic Choir, Bastien with Pocket Opera, Basilio with North Bay Opera, Nemorino with Arizona Opera Outreach, the Witch in Hansel and Gretel at Quisiana Resort in Maine and Strange Man in the world premiere of Wuornos at Yerba Buena Center.  Recent concerts include Mendelssohn’s Elijah, Schubert’s Wedding Roast, Haydn’s Nelson Mass, Mozart’s and Handel’s Judas Maccabaeus.  Mr. Nadel earned his Music and History degrees at UC Berkeley and his Masters in Vocal Performance from New England Conservatory where he studied under Richard Hughes.  He has recorded on Harmonia Mundi USA, Koch, International, Centaur, Arsis, Newport Classics and Pro Musica labels.
