JOHN P. MINAGRO performed with The Phantom of the Opera in San Francisco. He has sung with the San Francisco Opera for eight seasons and has performed the roles of Mephestopheles/Faust, Sharpless/Madama Butterfly, King René/Idolanta, Amonasro/Aïda, Allfio/Cavalleria Rusticana, Aleko/Aleko, Ruslan/Ruslan and Ludmila, Noah/Noyes Fludde, Sarastro/The Magic Flute, Gianni Schicchi, Tonio/I Pagliacci with other Bay Area and West Coast companies. He had the rare opportunity to sing the role of Porgy in a concert performance of Porgy and Bess. Also performing in musical theater, some of his favorite roles are the Ghost/The Ghost and Mrs. Muir, Guido/Nine, Quixote/Man of La Mancha. Nominated for Best Actor in a Musical by both the Bay Area Critics Circle and the Sacramento Regional Theater Alliance, Mr. Minagro has performed in locations from Lincoln Center in New York to the Concord Pavilion. He has been guest soloist with the San Francisco Symphony at their Summer Broadway Pops Concert and has enjoyed singing for the past three Decembers in Osaks, Japan.
