JOHN DAVEY-HATCHER

JOHN DAVEY-HATCHER, tenor, has been a member of the San Francisco Opera Chorus singing first tenor for the past three years and now embarks upon a solo career.  No stranger to the stage, he has performed roles including Rodolfo in La Bohème, Pinkerton in Madama Butterfly, and Alfredo in La Traviata.  Most recently he performed the role of Don Jose with Golden West Opera, Piangi in the Toronto production of Phantom of the Opera and Tevye in Fiddler on the Roof in San Francisco, the latter just last spring.  Mr. Davey-Hatcher has sung much standard repertoire including the Messiah, Mozart’s Requiem, Beethoven’s Ninth and Carmina Burana with the Montreal Symphony Orchestra, Phoenix Bach Choir, Phoenix Symphony, San Francisco Community Center Orchestra, San Francisco Sinfonietta and others.  Holding a Masters Degree in Voice Performance from Arizona State University, he teaches voice, is founder of the San Francisco Baha’i Choir as well as music director for the Adda Clevenger Junior Preparatory and Theater School and the award winning Adda Clevenger Youth Chorus of San Francisco.  Mr. Davey-Hatcher returns to the role of Alfredo with San Francisco Lyric Opera and will sing the Ninth for a third year at the New Year with the Community Music Center Orchestra of San Francisco.
