JENNIFER CHUNG has a voice described as “gorgeous” by the Austin-American Statesman and is a young soprano quickly raining recognition. With her exotic beauty and irresistible stage presence, Ms. Chung appeared most recently in August Opera Association’s production of Rigoletto, also as Gilda, and in Dallas Opera’s Don Giovanni as Zerlina. She also received critical acclaim for ‘some of the evening’s best singing’ by the Richmond-Times Dispatch for her portrayal of Beth in mark Adam’s Little Women with the Ashlawn-Highland Summer Opera Festival. A Dallas Opera favorite, Ms. Chung returns to Dallas this season to sing in upcoming productions of Carmen, as Frasquita, and Jenufa as Jano. She will also make her debut in the role of Musetta in La Bohème with Amarillo Opera. Ms. Chung was the first place winner in the Marguerite McCammon voice competition and was a 2003 Richard Tucker Award nominee in New York City. She is an award-winning finalist for the Southwest Region’s Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions, an award-winning finalist for Shreveport Opera’s Singer of the Year competition and a finalist in the MacAllister Competition in Indiana.
