DANIEL CARDWELL is making his Lyric Opera debut. Recently performing Gherman in The Queen of Spades with West Bay Opera, Mr. Cardwell has also performed such roles as Ferrando (Così Fan Tutte) with California State Long Beach, Rodolfo (La Bohème) with Theater Latté Da in St. Paul, Camille de Rosillon (The Merry Widow) with Music by the Lake in Wisconsin, and Tybalt (Roméo et Juliette), Tenore Buffo (Hugo Weisgall, Six Characters in Search of an Author), and Natanaël (Les Contes d’Hoffmann) at the University of Illinois, receiving his Master’s degree in Vocal Performance and Literature. He has sung with the Minnesota Orchestra under Osmo Vänskä in the world premier of Stephen Paulus’ oratorio, To Be Certain of the Dawn
