ANJA STRAUSS previously performed as Blonde in SFLO’s production of The Abduction from the Seraglio. Her performance of Frasquita in Carmen was hailed “explosive” by San Francisco Classical Voice. The German soprano has established herself as one of the most sought-after sopranos in the area. Recent performances include the soprano solo in Handel’s Messiah at Davies Symphony Hall and a New Year’s Gala featuring Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony and the Queen of the Night aria from Mozart’s Magic Flute. Last year’s opera performances include Mabel in the Lamplighter’s production of Pirates of Penzance, Aennchen in Freischuetz with Pocket Opera and Gretel in Hansel and Gretel with Pacific Repertory Opera.
