Cast Biographies

ROSS HALPER is happy to return to San Francisco Lyric Opera where he directed Figaro and sang Basilio. Favorites of 250 roles include the Witch (Hansel and Gretel), Vasek (Bartered Bride) and Mr. Owen (Argento's Postcard From Morocco). Mr. Halper has toured the world in Phantom of the Opera and created his own comic tenor recital: Gods and Goblins. Well known as a stage director (Utah Opera, Eugene Opera, Pacific Repertory Opera), his upcoming directing includes Cosí for North Bay Opera and Fledermaus (his own translation) at Cal Poly. Mr. Halper's opera translations have been sung nationally, and his Magic Flute version is currently touring Texas and Central America.
