Cast Biographies

ROBERTO GOMEZ has performed extensively throughout California, including leading roles in Carmen, La Traviata, Il Barbiere di Siviglia, baritone leads in Un Ballo in Maschera, Il Trovatore, Il Finto Sanislao, Don Carlo, Tosca, Auber's Manon Lescaut, Romeo, Lucia, the four villians in The Tales of Hoffman, created the role of the Drosselmeier in the premiere of The Tale of the Nutcracker, and Verdi's Requiem. He has performed his signature role of Figaro with Nevada Opera, Santa Barbara Opera, Accorde Opera in Mexico, Sacramento Opera, and Opera Idaho. Most recently, Mr. Gomez made his Italian and European debut for the Arena di Verona Foundation as the Chinese Prime Minister, Chou en-lai, in the Italian premiere of John Adams' Nixon in China.
