About San Francisco Lyric Opera
Established in 1996, San Francisco Lyric Opera is dedicated to the performance of classical opera, traditionally staged and sung in the original language with English supertitles.
Our Mission
The Lyric Opera is dedicated to:
- Superb performances of classical opera at prices more people can afford.
- Inspiring today's younger generation to become tomorrow's opera patrons.
- Outreach to children.
- At every performance, 10% of seats are available, free of charge, to children from the San Francisco Unified School District. All children under 12 are admitted free. Each November performances are held in public schools.
